Through detailed, statistical analysis, the benefit of quizzing is demonstrated to be significant for students of diverse academic abilities. Pre-exam quizzing using Mastering is an effective way to increase student performance on exams and allows class time to be utilized for teaching activities.

This presentation will examine efforts made to improve student success by utilizing online quizzing as a learning event. The analysis of data collected and the results of this study will be presented. The session will cover some of the important factors to consider when collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data, and will also detail preparative steps taken prior to beginning data collection, examples of modifications that were necessary throughout the study, and statistical analysis of the case study data to illustrate process of data analysis.
