Promote peer-to-peer learning with real-time analytics

Learning Catalytics™

Learning Catalytics enables instructors to generate classroom discussion and promote peer-to-peer learning and interaction with real-time analytics. An interactive tool that lets learners use their smartphones, tablets, and laptops in the classroom, it makes it easy for you to divide classes into pairs or groups based on learners' response patterns or your learning goals. Learners with greater proficiency help motivate other learners while allowing you time to provide individualized and focused attention to learners who will benefit from it.

Learning Catalytics allows you to create a variety of activities that promote interaction and communication, deliver them to learners via mobile devices, and receive feedback in real time. Learners use their own personal mobile devices and participate in large group activities or questions in a variety of formats (open-ended, image-based, or simple multiple choice). You gauge learner performance through advanced analytics that provide individual learner as well as full class/full course data via a graphical representation of their learners’ mastery of material.

Learning Catalytics allows you to:

  • Pose a variety of open-ended questions or engage learners in activities that help develop critical thinking skills
  • Monitor responses to find out where learners are struggling
  • Use real-time data to adjust instructional strategy and try other ways of engaging learners in class
  • Manage student interactions by automatically grouping students for discussion, pair/teamwork, and peer-to-peer learning
